Frequently Asked Questions
What are your official qualifications?
What is the symbolism of the red umbrella?
The red umbrella is the international symbol of sex workers’ rights.
The first time the red umbrella was used was in 2001 in Venice during the 49th Art Biennale. A group of sex workers took to the streets and marched with red umbrellas as part of an art installation called “Prostitute Pavilion” by Slovenian artist Tadej Pogacar. The installation raised awareness about the human rights and labour rights violations faced by sex workers.
Since then, the red umbrella has been used internationally to support sex workers’ rights and showcase the strength and resilience of the community.
Do you offer in person or virtual services?
I offer both in person and virtual psychotherapy and educational services. However, it is my preference to see clients in person as much as possible.
I have provided workshops and guest lectures both in person and through online platforms such as Zoom, Huddle, SecureVideo, and Microsoft Teams.
Why are you under supervision?
I am currently registered with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario as a Qualifying member (CRPO #15312). I have met all the requirements to become an autonomous professional and am waiting to write my Entry-to-Practice exam in May 2024. Once I have passed this exam, I will no longer require supervision.
Currently, I am currently under the supervision of Jess Erb, PhD, R.P. (CRPO #008555)
